VeilGuard for Outlook
When you press Send, VeilGuard checks the subject, the message, the recipients and the attachments for personal data, card and bank numbers, API keys, passwords and your company's own terms. If it finds something, Outlook shows a VeilGuard alert that names what kind of data and how much (never the data itself). Review in VeilGuard opens a pane where you can mask the values in the message, keeping its formatting. The check runs inside Outlook on your device; nothing in your mail is sent to VeilGuard.
Install it
At work: ask your IT admin to deploy VeilGuard from the Microsoft 365 admin center (Settings → Integrated apps → Upload custom apps → Office Add-in → manifest URL https://www.veilguard.site/office/manifest.xml). That puts it in everyone's Outlook with the send check on.
For yourself (testing):
- Download manifest.xml.
- Open aka.ms/olksideload (Outlook on the web opens the Add-ins dialog).
- Choose My add-ins → Custom Addins → Add a custom add-in → Add from File, pick the file and accept.
- Write a message with, say, a card number and press Send.
With the VeilGuard Windows app: Settings → Outlook add-in opens the right page, and for classic Outlook it can register the add-in for you (the Office developer registration; Outlook may still want it added from the dialog above). Outlook has no supported silent install for a single user.

Microsoft Teams
Teams doesn't let apps check or stop a chat message when you send it. What VeilGuard can offer there:
- The VeilGuard Windows app checks the Teams desktop app when you paste or press Enter.
- The VeilGuard check page, also available as a Teams personal app: paste text, see what's sensitive, copy a masked version. It runs on the page; nothing you paste is sent anywhere.
Privacy
The add-in stores its settings in your mailbox's add-in settings. If you (or your admin) link it to a VeilGuard company, it fetches the company policy and sends daily counts only: date, detector, category, risk level and action. See the privacy policy.
